Immigration Policy

As Governor, I would

1. Eliminate benefits for undocumented immigrants including:

a. Medical Benefits (Emergency medical care is exempted, as
   required by federal law)
b. Anchor baby rule
c. In state college tuition

2. Enforce current Immigration Law.

3. Immediately deport the 20,000 illegals in our prison system and send them
back to their country of origin, saving us $2-$2.4 billion a year.

4. Push for the following:

a. Based on Section 287(g) Immigration and Nationality Act, I will train all state and local law enforcement to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents giving them:
        i. the necessary resources and latitude to pursue
investigations relating to violent crimes, human
        smuggling, gang/organized crime activity,
        sexual-related offenses, narcotics smuggling, money
laundering and illegal entry into California, as well as
increased resources and support in more remote
        geographical locations

b. Require all law enforcement agents operating in California, who suspect that a person who has been arrested is in violation of immigration laws, to investigate the detainee's immigration status and if they find evidence of illegality they must report it to the attorney general of California, and to the Federal Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and detain the undocumented immigrant for possible deportation.

c. Require the attorney general to keep records on all such cases and make them available to any other California law enforcement or government entity that wishes to inspect them.

d. If any government agents suspect anyone applying for benefits of being an illegal immigrant, the agents must report their suspicions in writing to the appropriate enforcement authorities within 24 hours.

e. Enforce E-Verify for Employers and push loss of business licenses for repeat offenders.

5. Reject any legislation giving Driver's Licenses to illegal immigrants.

6. Support the reinstatement of California's Yellow Card, allowing only the
worker comes into the state, not the family (except for a maximum 2 week
vacation with appropriate visas). Furthermore, all temporary workers should
have 40% of their wages held in an escrow account, to be returned to them
when they return to their country of origin, less an escrow fee.

7. Secure the Border using the National Guard to work in conjunction with the
US Border Patrol and Local Sheriffs.

8. I do not support Amnesty, but do support expediting Legal Immigration.

9. Require the enforcement of Proposition 227, that Public School Instruction
to be in English, including an intensive sheltered English immersion
programs for children not fluent in English.

10. Sanctuary Cities will be held accountable for any harm caused by an illegal
immigrant being harbored in their city, based on the "Illegal Immigration
Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996". Furthermore, I will
withhold funds to those cities (except for law enforcement) and arrest any
city employee who implements a sanctuary ordinance, for prosecution.
